Dr.Shoaleh Bigdeli receieved her PhD in curriculum theories and implementation from Simon Fraser University (SFU), Canada. She is an associate professor in the School of Medicine, and currently Vice-director for research at Center for Educational Research in Medical Sciences (CERMS), Member of Research Higher Council of the CERMS, Director of International affairs unit of the education development center (EDC), Director of curriculum unit of education development center (EDC) in Iran University of Medical Sciences (IUMS), International affairs adviser to the director, National Agency for Strategic Research in Medical Sciences (NASR), and International affairs adviser, Virtual University of Medical Sciences (VUMS).
 
Her wide-ranging research interests include gamification, gamified curriculum design, e-learning, digital gaming, curriculum and millennials, professionalism, and qualitative research in medical education. Her publications focus on contributions to understanding various aspects of medical education.
 
She had presentations in more than 50 conferences, and published more than 50 papers and several books. At the international level, currently she is Association for Medical Education Europe (AMEE) associate fellow, and member of Teaching Enhanced Learning (TEL) and Faculty development SIGs of the AMEE.
